A new extreme sport show hosted by Jenny Jones, the medal-winning Olympic snowboarder, starts on BBC Radio 5 Live tomorrow.
The series is set to interview adrenalin-fuelled sport stars, giving fans an insight into what it takes to compete in their field. Events organised in the UK and around the world will also be covered. Extreme sports have grown in the UK since the 1990s as mountain biking, surfing, snowboarding and kitesurfing have attracted new fans and participants.
Jones competed in the Sochi Winter Olympics and won a bronze medal as part of Team GB.
Co-hosting the series is 5 Live sport journalist Will Perry.
“I can’t wait to get stuck in with Will and team at Radio 5 live, shining a light on a selection of awe-inspiring sports that capture the imagination of millions of fans across the UK,” said Jenny Jones.
“With a personal love of any sport outside of snowboarding that gets the pulse racing, it’s going to be great fun getting under the skin of this adrenalin-fuelled world.”
Jenny Jones’ Extreme will be a monthly series and starts on Thursday, 23rd October, from 9pm to 10pm in 5 live Sport.
