Listeners will be able to follow the 16th IAAF World Championships on digital radio when they begin next week at the London Stadium.
This year’s championships will see Mo Farah competing in the 10,000m. Usain Bolt, the eight-time Olympic champion, will try to add to his 11 world championship gold medals in the 100m before taking part in his final men’s relay race on Saturday 12 August.
BBC Radio 5 Live will offer live coverage with Sonja McLaughlan alongside correspondent Mike Costello and former Olympic gold medallist Darren Campbell. They will be joined by Commonwealth silver medallist Allison Curbishley and Ed Harry on commentary duties.
A special programme, Usain Bolt: 100 Days That Shook The World, will air on BBC Radio 5 Live on Tuesday (7.30pm-9pm). Chief Writer for BBC Sport, Tom Fordyce, looks at how Usain Bolt went from a promising athlete in 2008 to a sports superstar. The special includes interviews with members of his inner circle and his on-track competitors.
A two hour preview show looking at the upcoming action will be presented by Sonja McLaughlan.

The best of the day’s action will be included in Sport Today (3.30pm and 6.30pm, weekdays) and Sportsworld (2pm, weekends) on the BBC World Service. Live commentary from the big finals will also be included in Focus on Africa from 7pm.
