A new chart show will launch on Hits Radio and 21 local radio stations across the UK this weekend.
The UK Chart Show will reveal the biggest songs, shows, films and trending moments from the week. It will be hosted by Sarah-Jane Crawford every Sunday afternoon from 4pm.
Last year it was announced that the existing commercial radio chart, The Big Top 40, would be exclusive to Capital and Heart when it relaunches on Sunday 6th January with new host Will Manning. Nine radio stations will also launch their own chart, the Total Access Top 40, at the same time.
The creators of the chart so that it will be “more than a music countdown” and that the show will reveal the #TopThreeTrending moments of the last week. The show will also look at “Future Hits” and Sarah-Jane Crawford will grab “exclusive chats with the stars behind the hits.”
Commenting on the launch, Simon Kilby, Chief Revenue Officer at Bauer Media said: “The UK Chart Show meets a clear gap in the market for an energetic and pacey format driven by the trending topics of the week, authentically reaching listeners who are consuming more than music every day.”
In addition to Hits Radio, the new chart programme will be broadcast on these stations: CFM; Clyde 1; Forth 1; Free Radio (Birmingham & Black Country); Free Radio (Coventry & Warwickshire); Free Radio (Herefordshire & Worcestershire); Free Radio (Shropshire); Gem 106; Hallam FM; Metro Radio; Moray Firth Radio; Northsound 1; Radio Aire; Radio Borders; Radio City; Radio City Talk; Rock FM; Tay FM; TFM Radio; Viking FM; West FM.
Hits Radio is available on DAB digital radio, Freeview, via smart speakers and online in apps. Each “chart element” will be simulcast on the Hits Radio Network social media channels.
