Comedian and broadcaster Frank Skinner will receive a special birthday present this weekend.
Absolute Radio is celebrating their presenters’ 60th birthday by dedicating an entire pop-up radio station to him for Saturday and Sunday.
Absolute Radio Frank will temporarily replace Absolute Radio 90s on digital radio to feature the weekly Saturday show, as well as new and exclusive audio. The station will also feature best bits from his seven years at the station.
“I love the idea of a radio station that’s wall-to-wall me,” said Frank Skinner.
“I’d love to say it’s a dream come true but it’s so far-fetched I didn’t even dream about it. I’ve often had ideas above my station but now I have a station above my ideas.”
The pop-up station starts with The Frank Skinner Show from 9am on Saturday 28th January. Highlights on the station will include a two-hour interview with Frank, hosted by fellow West Brom fan Adrian Chiles. He’ll be taking a look back at Frank Skinner’s life and career.
On Saturday from 8-11pm the station will feature the best of The Frank Skinner Show from 2016.
The special programmes continue until the station reverts back to Absolute Radio 90s at 6am on Monday 30th January.
Everything on Absolute Radio Frank will be available to listen to on-demand in podcasts and on the Absolute Radio app afterwards.
Frank Skinner can be heard every Saturday from 8-11am on Absolute Radio.
