TV and radio broadcaster Eamonn Holmes OBE has joined talkRADIO’s weekday schedule, taking over the 4-7pm drivetime show.
The talk radio station has announced other changes to its schedule, which sees mid-morning host Julia Hartley-Brewer moves to Breakfast. The new breakfast show starts at 6.30am, after James Max’s new early breakfast show.
Broadcaster Mike Graham will host mid-morning from 10am with regular co-host Katie Perrior, the former Director of Communications for Theresa May.
Jamie East joins from sister station Virgin Radio, taking on the 1-4pm slot until a new presenter is unveiled in April. Previous afternoon host Jon Holmes can still be heard on Virgin Radio. Jamie East will be joined by a range of co-hosts, including Melanie Sykes.
James Whale continues in the 7-10pm slot, from Monday to Thursday, while Iain Lee continues The Late Night Alternative from 10pm. Paul Ross moves from breakfast to a new overnight show from 1-5am.
talkRADIO Programme Director Dennie Morris said: “This new line-up is sure to get you talking. Eamonn is a legend of broadcasting and will make waves on talkRADIO strengthening our roster of expert presenters. Whilst the brilliant Julia Hartley-Brewer will be setting the agenda in her new slot bringing you everything you need to know in the mornings.”
“talkRADIO is the place for debate, for our listeners up and down the country.”
The station launched with talkSPORT 2 and Virgin Radio in March 2016.
talkRADIO is available on DAB digital radio, in iOS and Android apps, and on the talkRADIO.co.uk website.
Eamonn Holmes was part of the launch schedule with a weekly interview programme.
“You won’t be disappointed when you tune in to talkRADIO Drive,” said Eamonn Holmes.
“Whether you are in your car going from job to job, collecting your kids on the school run or pottering around at home this will be the show that you can’t afford to miss.”
“I’ll bring you serious news with a smile.”
