Musician and radio presenter Clare Teal is joining Jazz FM to host a big band and swing programme every Sunday night for two hours.
The two hour programme will feature music picked by Clare and starts on Sunday 24th January.
On joining Jazz FM, Clare says: “I am beyond thrilled to be joining Jazz FM. To find a new home as excited as I am, to share the music I love, with like-minded folks, is just brilliant. In addition to celebrating classic older big band, jazz, swing, latin, trad and whatever records I happen to be loving at the moment, I really want to focus on highlighting our fantastic and vibrant British big band, jazz, and swing scene which is as vital and relevant as ever.”
Jazz FM is available across the UK on DAB digital radio, on smart speakers, in apps and online. The station broadcasts on DAB+ and some radios may not be able to receive Jazz FM.
A new programme at 9pm on Sunday evenings will feature short series and documentaries. The first of these will feature comedian and jazz fan Marcus Brigstocke hosting a second six-part series of “Jazz Family Trees”.
The Sarah Ward Collection, which currently airs every Sunday between 7-10pm, moves to Saturdays at 6pm.
Jazz FM’s Content Director Nick Pitts says: “I’m so excited that Clare is joining our line-up of jazz experts and curators and to headline our Sunday evenings. Jazz FM starts 2021 with a re-invigorated commitment to providing the world’s greatest music to our jazz, soul and blues hungry audience and I can’t wait to hear Clare’s selections shine through on Jazz FM. Welcome to the team Clare”
