BBC Radio 5 Live will have a special schedule for the 2024 Summer Olympics with 12 hours of consecutive coverage a day.
On Wednesday evening the station will count down the top 10 British Olympic moments and air ‘From NBA to USA: Basketball at the Paris Olympics’. The opening ceremony along the river Seine will be covered by Mark Chapman and Kelly Cates on Friday evening.
The BBC says fans will be able to catch every Team GB medal with coverage from 10am to 10pm, as well as medal winners live on 5 Live Breakfast every morning.
During the week Naga Munchetty and Adrian Chiles will take listeners through the rowing and diving finals, as well as the athletic and swimming heats. In the afternoon Mark Chapman will invite guests into 5 Live’s Parisian café studio from 1pm to 3.30pm. Tony Livesey and Eleanor Oldroyd will be on air together from the French capital, as well as presenting live from gymnastics and track cycling events.
Kelly Cates continues coverage in the evening to bring listeners the medals being won in the swimming pool and at the athletics track.
On 5 Live Breakfast, Rachel Burden and Rick Edwards will bring listeners Olympics news as well as hearing from medalists, families and fans.
Commentary on the athletics will come from Olympic bronze medalist Katharine Merry alongside Allison Curbishley. Commentatators Alistair Bruce-Ball, Jonathan Overend, Steve Bunce, Sonja McLaughlan, Iain Carter, Sara Orchard and Russell Fuller are also part of the team. Olympians Victoria Pendleton, Louis Smith, Steve Parry, Karen Pickering and Jess Eddie will join them during the games.
Coverage and commentary will also be available on BBC World Service English on special editions of Sportsworld and Sport Today. Newsday will feature reports and interviews while Caroline Barker brings the human-interest stories behind the medals to Sportshour.

This weekend BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra will carry Test Match Special with coverage of England v West Indies. All of the Formula 1 sessions from the Belgian Grand Prix at Spa-Francorchamps will be carried online-only on the BBC Sport website.
