Smooth Radio is set to re-launch next month as ‘Your Relaxing Music Mix’ with Kate Garraway, Andrew Castle and Myleene Klass joining the station.
The changes also mean Smooth will no longer be available nationally on DAB digital radio. Instead local versions of Smooth will be available in many parts of the UK – such as London, Essex, Sussex and on Teesside. The station will still be available through digital TV across the UK and online.
Former GMTV presenter Kate Garraway will join Smooth from 3rd March when she starts her mid-morning weekday show from 10.00 to 13.00.
Andrew Castle, the former British number one tennis player and TV presenter, will wake listeners with music and chat at breakfast. Castle will also chat with big name celebrities in the new ‘Andrew Castle Meets’ programe on Sunday evenings.
Classic FM’s Myleene Klass will also join Smooth to present the Saturday morning show each week from 10.00 to 14.00.
Kate Garraway said, “I love the music on Smooth Radio so I’m thrilled to be part of the new line-up. To be given my own weekday morning show is very exciting – and a bit nerve-wracking – but I can’t wait to get started!”
Also commenting on the re-launch, Andrew Castle said, “I can’t wait to get started on the Breakfast show. I’m a big fan of the new Smooth and love the music on the station. I’m also looking forward to my Sunday evening interview show.”
