Former host of PM on BBC Radio 4, Eddie Mair, is to host drivetime on LBC from next week.
He will take over the programme with a new 4-6pm time slot from Monday 3rd September. Current drivetime host Iain Dale will present a new weekday evening show, from Monday to Thursday between 7pm and 10pm.
Eddie Mair hosted his final edition of PM this month, finishing two days earlier than planned. He had been a presenter of the BBC programme since 1998. Mair will continue to host the Grenfell Tower Enquiry Podcast until November.
LBC is also launching a new late-night programme with Tom Swarbrick. He will host the programme from 10pm to 1am, Sunday to Thursday, after Ian Collins announced his departure from the talk station.
Andrew Castle will host Saturday and Sunday breakfast again from 7am to 10am, after first hosting the weekend programmes in 2013.
James Rea, LBC’s managing editor, said: “LBC is home to the nation’s most respected and formidable broadcasters – and it’s terrific to welcome Eddie to our powerhouse presenting team. As we launch our new autumn schedule, LBC will continue to lead the way in opinionated and compelling speech radio, stimulating debate on the issues that people are really talking about.”
Originally a radio station for London, LBC has been across the UK on digital radio since 2014. It is available on DAB digital radio, TV, online and through the LBC app.
