Digital radio manufacturer Pure has unveiled a new slimline DAB+ radio with Bluetooth.
The Pure Avalon N5 is available in Pearl Grey and Charcoal, and goes on sale at John Lewis priced at £199.99.
The compact and modern design takes inspiration from “the growing trend in contemporary homes”. The radio is wrapped in intricately woven wool. Buttons on top of the radio are backlit, with the power and volume control combined in a single pop-up button.
Pure’s new radio comes with a custom engineered, high performance 3” dual voice coil speaker driver. There are also two passive radiators which the company says will “deliver full bodied sound with deep and powerful bass.”
User adjustable treble and bass controls are included, while the RMS output is 20W. In addition to Bluetooth and digital radio the Avalon N5 also has an auxiliary input. A headphone output is also included.
The radio features a two line LCD display, 10 digital and 10 FM presets, sleep timer, alarm and snooze function. It weighs 1.7kg and measures 265 mm wide by 160 mm high. Battery power is available with Pure’s ChargePAK F1 (sold separately).
Jas Palmer, product manager at Pure, says, “This compact and connected device has been designed from the ground up, with careful consideration for both the inside and outside design using high quality materials throughout.”
The Avalon N5 is digital tick approved, so will receive DAB, DAB+ and FM radio stations. It also comes with a three year warranty.
Earlier this year the company also unveiled two personal digital radios – the Move T4 and Move R3.
