A new adapter which can upgrade car radios to receive digital stations has been launched.
Connects2 announced details of AutoDAB-FM today, the latest in a range of aftermarket DAB adapters from the company. The AutoDAB-FM receives DAB and DAB+ digital radio and transmits a signal to the car’s FM radio.
The company says the product has been designed to fit almost any vehicle with digital radio. The AutoDAB-FM can provide information to the FM car radio, including station name and programme information.
Using FM to provide audio to the car radio means the vehicle doesn’t need an aux-in connection or a cable between the adapter and the radio. However, aux-in is still provided as an option for motorists who prefer this method.
A dedicated RF remote is included for control of the adapter as well as a voice control interface. Connects2 says the device is simple to fit with plug and play installation. The entire product remains hidden behind the dash after installation.
Power is provided by a 12v cigarette lighter power connector and a glass mount antenna is provided for DAB signals.
